Who- Petitioner Erlich Anthony Coker
What- The state of Georgia sentenced him to death after he escaped from the Georgia jail and raped and kidnapped a resident woman.
When- June 29, 1977
Where- Georgia

Coker was initially sentenced to death, however, the US Supreme Court reversed that judgement on the grounds that death is an excessive punishment for rape.
One pro of the death penalty is that in some cases, one death can prevent many deaths. Also, the death penalty escapes any chance of that person harming other people.

Why- They were both sentenced to death

A big concern of the death penalty is not just do the convicted deserve to die, but do the state and federal governments have the right to kill these people. Another con is that racial apartheid, racial bias, and ethnic discrimination affect the result of the death penalty. Your social class also depends on the punishment.

In this article, justice has declared that police need a search warrant in order to seize cell phones. They say cell phones are no longer a piece of technology, they are increasingly powerful computers that contain vast quantities of personal, sensitive information. This decision will help to protect the privacy rights of all Americans. This article relates to the Fourth Amendment because in this amendment it states, each man should be secure from unreasonable searches and seizures of property by the government.

Christians being persecuted in Iraq

In Iraq, Christians are being persecuted because of their practice of Christianity. They have been given the opportunity to convert to Islam or be killed. This relates to the First Ammendment because it states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise." This has been recently taking place and people believe the U.S. has been ignoring the downstream persecution of these Christians. Only about 100,000 self- identified Christians have been able to flee from their brutal oppressors.

Tom Burnett, 9/11 hero
On 9/11, Tom was on United Airlines Flight 93 and had called his wife who found out about the attacks on the World Trade Center. Tom decided to fight back against the hijackers and instead of regaining control of the plane, they all perished when the plane crashed in a rural area in a Pennsylvania field. Tom is a hero because he knew what was going to happen to him but decided to fight back anyways.
